Bachelors of Psychology
Bachelor in Psychology is a scientific discipline and has importance in the life of individuals and society at large. Within its ambit it includes behavioral science, clinical neuroscience, child and adolescent psychology, psychopathology, forensic psychology and so on.
The first three years will make students adept in the discipline and help them specialize in one of the branches of the discipline be it behavioural science, social psychology, developmental psychology etc. The fourth year entails a research project and confers students with an Honors degree.
There are many universities in Australia also offering Bachelors of Psychology without the Honors which can be completed in three years. An undergraduate degree in Psychology is accredited by the Australian Psychology Accreditation Council. You can apply for provisional registration after 4 years of study.
Bachelors in Psychology (H): 4 years
Bachelors in Psychology: 3 years
- IELTS Academic score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with no sub-score less than 6.0 in any of the bands. This may slightly vary from university to university
- Australian Year 12 or International Equivalent. Some Universities may have minimum GPA to enrol
Fees & Scholarships
Fees would be approximately in the range of A$28,000 to A$35,000 per year.
There are scholarships available for selective universities only to deserving candidates, recognising their excellence in the field and any other significant achievement.
Career options for psychologists are numerous and varied. Some of the occupations that graduates of this discipline can opt for include Social Welfare Consultant, Medical Researcher, Child Safety Officer, Health Officer, Clinical Worker, Child Development Officer, Communications Specialist, Counsellors, Childcare specialist, Human Resource Specialist, Research Psychologist, or even as a School teacher.
PR Pathway course
If your qualification is in accordance with ANZCO 2723-99 then your occupation is in demand and required by employers in Australia. This occupation features on the MTSSL as an occupation in demand in Australia and it is possible to apply for any visa under the GSM category with respect to this.
