Eligibility:

  • TOEFL  79-93 or Academic IELTS score of 6.5 (or equivalent) with no sub-score less than 6.0 in any of the bands. This may slightly vary from university to university
  • Qualification is equivalent to the completion of 13 years of schooling in Australia.

Completion of relevant subjects in senior high school or other equivalent

  • International students who have obtained their qualifications outside Australia would need to submit evidence of your Australian Psychological Society APS equivalency
  • TOEFL 94-101 or  Academic IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) with no sub-score less than 7.0 in any of the bands. This may slightly vary from university to university

How long does it take to become a psychologist

This would be approximately six years. Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC)  accredited the four-year program. E.g. BPsych (Hons)  and two more years of training.

These two years can also be in the form of an accredited Masters of Psychology degree.  or you can practice under a supervisor who is a registered psychologist.
