VET Nursing Course

Nursing is a popular course among international students as the demand and employment opportunity for Registered Nurses is very high. The number of jobs is expected to go from 283,800 in 2017 to 349,100 by 2022. The basic requirements for a Diploma of Nursing are:

  • An IELTS overall 7.0 with no band lower than 7.0
  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent

Nursing courses provide placement of up to 400 hours. Thus, after completing a Diploma of Nursing, graduates would have honed their service orientation, active listening, coordination, monitoring, and reading comprehension skills. Graduates would be considered an enrolled nurse after registration. As an Enrolled Nurse, graduates would be able to earn approximately $1,100/week. Popular states that hire enrolled nurses are Queensland, Victoria, and New South Wales. VET in Community Services

There are different careers that international students can pursue after completing a community services course; welfare support worker, community services case worker, health education officer, and more. These occupations are also in demand and are expected to grow around 19% by 2020. There are certain skills needed to be effective in these occupations. Taking a community services course helps students improve their active listening, social perceptiveness, problem solving, and interpersonal communication skills. To get started with their career in community services, international students can take:

  • Certificate IV in Community Services
  • Certificate IV in Youth Work
  • Diploma of Community Services
  • Diploma of Youth Work

The growing population of ageing Australians, we’re seeing an increased demand for Aged Care graduates in recent years. There is an expected growth of the industry by 47% by 2022. The basic requirements to take up a course in Aged Care are:
